After the Drought

Early October in the Elan Valley, mid-Wales, I think at the mouth of Afon Claerwyn. The normal water level in the sequence of dams is well above the top of the image frame and at this point almost at road level. My brother has lived near the valley for over thirty years and has never seen the water so low.

At least after the drought, you get pictures that may not be available until the next hot-spell. Mind you, with global warming, that may come quicker than you think!!

At least some water now. We have the same problems here. The poor salmon can't get up river to spawn.
