Both excellent shots with a really dramatic sky. I particularly like v1 where the sky contrasts so well with the agapanthus. It has great clarity and a 3D quality.

Mid summer for you whilst we are in mid winter today up north: and what a marvellous sky, quite sulphurous in V 2.
Interesting backdrop for your flower in V 1, Herman, although it does tend to draw the eye away from the subject.
But congrats on thinking a bit differently.
