The broken-off leg is the reflection in the mirror which leans against the fence. It is just possible to see the loop of chain on the mirror. For some reason it's more distinct in the click-on version.

Whilst in town recently, we came across three chairs that had been dumped outside of a charity shop which is closed due to lock down. One of the chairs had a leg missing and someone had stuck a note on one of them saying, "free to a good home.":)

I, too, wondered about the broken leg in the picture, but the mirror is the culprit. Out of interest, did they last long, before they were gone? They look in good condition and freshly painted?

They were gone the next time we walked past, Ian, but we don't go that way often.
