Ailsa Craig...

By Scottishlandscapes
...a change of pace from yesterday's upload. This was the other day in Ayrshire, had been shooting the Ferry and moved position, the tree looked just perfect for the island with these clouds.

Good morning Dougie,
Nice to see your picture appear in the Gallery. Beautiful view of this unique rock in the Scottish sea. Simple but very nice composition here. The lone tree in the forground sets off the rock in the most wonderful way.

Excellent, Dougie. I love the B&W treatment and the way the ribbon of light across the sky highlights the skeletal form of the tree's uppermost branches.

The mono treatment suits the composition/subject beautifully, and the tonal range is very pleasing. I think I like this. Smile

Like so many simple shots, when done well there every bit as strong as the most complex shot.

You did this one well bro. Good image.
