Thanks for the votes and comments on my last upload.

I've not been around much of late, and I doubt this will change for a while. However, I thought I'd quickly post this image (to let folk know I'm still alive).

The model is my nephew Alex. He's a budding actor and wanted some images to kick off a portfolio - a great excuse for me to dust off the old camera gear, and to at long last have a quick go at some stobism. This is one of my fav's from the day and is shot with a single diffused flash gun pointing straight up and placed on the floor between me and Alex. This was to fill in the shadows on his face (right side) and to help balance the exposure from the strong natural light coming in on his left.

Portrait work is new to me, as is strobism. Any CC are therefore welcomed...

Adam

Looks like a good job to me, well lit and the bg works well.

There's no denying this lad is from your gene pool! I have just asked Georgia who he reminds her off. Nanosecond answer of 'Adum'. Excellent mono. Good to hear you are still alive too!

I think this works really well and has a good mood about it. You seem to have captured his character and placed him in his very urban environment in a tight crop. Very cleverly done.

I know naff all about strobe Adam , so cant comment on the available light balance.

But the perspective seems a little "forced" , cajoled into line with a little masked Gaussian ?

And his hoodie right is overexposed .
