Hi kat, sure is cute - try a squeaky toy held next to the camera to get eye contact - by nature dogs will turn away as soon as you get the camera out!

Lovely dog ! So difficult to take white on a sunny day so I'd suggest taking the shot as the light gets less - later on in the afternoon and then you'll get even more detail in the coat. Try whispering a favourite word too and he'll turn his head to the side and look at you! I used to say "Bonios" to our dog. She always got one !
I've been taking digital shots for about three years now and I am still finding it difficult after owning an SLR for years. We all learn something every day!

Well taken and yes a very tough shot a white dog on a sunny day.

I do like his pose, Kat, with his tongue out, agree about the light and white and about getting eye-contact. I'm sure with all this advice, your next shot of Alfie will be even better
