All cogged up....

By NDODS
Good Day to you all at ePz.

Thank you for taking the time out to view and comment on my upload the other day. Sorry I never got the chance to upload or view on your comments yesterday, but I went down with a bout of sickness and the squirts. "Not Nice".

Anyway I feel fine now and back to some form of normality.

Todays image was captured whilst out and about a little while ago and shows part of a winch/winding mechanism which is used to haul the fishing boats up the steep inclines onto the beach at Goring.

I hope that you all have a great day. For me I shall have to finish the Christmas shopping "something for Julie".

Regards as always Nathan GrinGrinGrin

Remember the eggnog. 1/2 with milk and mico at 110 seconds. This image had me guessing locks opening or small bridge lifting but marine hull hauling as you explained seems to fit as well. Solid old machinery can look so good. Surprising. TG

Thanks for sharing Nathan.... urrgh GrinGrinGrin I had a similar problem at the weekend, not nice.

Anyway, I like this, we do like a bit of good old fashioned rust don't we. Just a thought (and it might be my monitor) but I think it could handle a bit of an upward contrast tweak, I think it would just make it ping.

It's big, tough rust in pretty pastel colours. I'd like to give it a bit more oomph. I'd try reducing brightness, increasing contrast, burning in textures. I wish Mods were enabled

Thanks for the pm, two Mods duly uploaded. Brightness reduced, contrast increased, a Levels adjustment, a bit of burn tool to bring the foreground forward. I haven't pushed it too far in the first one but for me it gives a more 3-D feel. The second is pushed a bit further but still realistic, not extreme.

I am having endless problems with this site these days, Nathan.
As you gave the opportunity for a Mod, I prepared one for you but it just will not load.
Last week it took me three days and many attempts to load an image of my own.
And sometimes the site will just not one at all.
So no Mod from me.
Further I am not able to view your Versions 2 and 3.......just black squares seen.
But back to V 1, I liked the subject matter, captured in excellent detail and textures but felt that it was a tad over-exposed, so my Mod was a reduction in brightness bit with increased contrast. Sorry that I cannot show it.

I like all the rust and the detail in the machinery Nathan, lots of textures here. I also love the delicate webs which contrast well with the main subject.
