Quad bikes - well I profited from the experience of the first performance. I didn't keep any of my shots from that, but it sorted out what I needed to do for the second session. Timing for the top of the jump was crucial I think (particularly as that's where I focused for). I may download yours and have a sneaky look at the Exif some time...


The aim was to get some of the movement of fingers while playing the guitar. Hence stopping down to allow this, and also to keep a good deal of background detail that was sharp (that's my excuse for not just dropping the ISO. Two pints were involved...)
I think I was resting my elbows on the table, and I was certainly sitting down.
My thinking was that any blur from camera movement would be limited compared with the movement of fingers.

If you use a table it can't strictly be called as hand held, but your attempt is praiseworthy, maximum shake of camera happen when i press the shutter, if i use high speed continuous shooting option of the camera, it can reduce this shake from the second shot and holding my breath i have broken the rule of thumb by 4 stop, this technique i use for strictly hand helding shots mainly in low light and when i don't have any other option at that time...
