I really like the light and reflections on the upper 'part' of the middle one.

this mono conversion has lost nothing of the beauty and sophistication of the original but needs contrast enhancement, imho, maybe at the expense of finer detail that would be lost in darker areas

Comparing both versions, Moira I think that the colour in the first actually distracts from the lines and tones contained in the this, in my view, a much stronger image.
Still worried though Sad

Much stronger in mono. I have to agree with Leo and Mike however. I think it needs a hefty contrast boost to really strengthen the blacks and bring out the details in the middle of the frame.

I'm with the above mono is best.

Thanks folks, and special thanks to Ollie and Alfie for their UAs.
Leo and Alan, I've added a version with much higher contrast and I agree that it is better. I normally start off b&w conversions with high contrast and then rein it back, I pulled it back too far with this one!

Looks good in mono too, Moira, has a more abstract feel than in colour. Can't decide between these two mono versions, they both work well for me Smile

I agree that the version is the stronger of the two, but either one would please the eye.

More contrast...or not more contrast...?
hmmm.... either one works for me, and beats the colour.

Well spotted and nicely captured. Prefer the higher contrast version.
