All Saints'

By Rach1970
Probably my last 'architectural' one for a bit.

All Saints' Church in Leamington Spa, looking across from the other side of the River Leam.
Would love to know what you think and how it could be improved.

Thanks for looking Smile and for c&c's on recent architectural uploads.

Very attractive image - a cluttered mass of buildings piled on top of each other, but with grace and rhythm.

hi rach, i like the comp, i think HDR when used gently can bring out extra details in buildngs. i've done a mod where i've used photomatix, although you can get similar results with oloneo which is or at least was a free programme. i've then used the PS sharpening action available on the downloads section of EPZ to sharpen it alittle more. if you enable mods i can post it. otherwise if you'd like to see it let me know and i'll put it behind one of my pics for you to see. lesley Smile

A great image Rach, I agree with Cassiecat, and think its ever so easy to overdo HDR (and you can see that one or two of my images have been close!!) but having said that when its applied properly it looks great. you can also try the exposure merge technique which works very well to add detail to highlights and shaddows.

A challenge given all those building clustered together but I like the comp you acheived very much.

That's brill Lesley. I do approve Smile Thanks for the time you've spent on the mod. I'm going to be honest here and show my ignorance... I just had to look up HDR on google! I will investigate some more though because I love these sort of effects. All I did on my original was to tweak the shadows/highlights as far as I can remember. Glad I posted this as it's given me lots to think about. Thanks again Lesley.
Thanks everyone for your comments and votes Smile

I love your composition, Rach. I was gonna say that the details look a bit soft but then I scrolled down and read Cassiecat's comments and advice and she's covered it brilliantly.
