If you have photoshop Barbs have you ever tried shadows/highlights this question is not meant to offend but your image appears a little dark on my screen - having said this I do like the abstract with the swan included. I just tried the shadows thing on my pc with your picture you would be amazed at the difference - another epz member made me aware some weeks back and I use the shadows tool a lot now and very pleased with the result it gives, dunno why I never found it before.

Yes the water is lovely but I think pluckyfilly has given you some good advice. I always think curves helps too.

Well done Barbara, you have captured some nice detail here, a little dark but as has been mentioned, highlights and shadows would improve it,

Hi Barb, these are wonderful birds to photograph, they don't tend to fly off as soon as you get close. As Richard says the curve of the neck against the water is very nice.

Do you shoot in NEF format (RAW) ? if not give it a whirl as it will get you out of all types of problems.

The shadow/highlight tool would work well, there is also another tool--- IMAGE.adjustments.brightness/contrast in PS that would alter this image enough to bring out highlights and lighten it----- HOwever, I like the tones and details as it is, maybe just a tad dark--

fantastic composition and textures!

A super capture, Barbs. Yes, maybe a little dark in the shadows, but you've captured some lovely detail and textures, which must be seen large to appreciate.

Great picture, I suspect the water patterns would not work so well lighter, but that is all subjective anyway.
