Quote:Some lovely views from the saddle Mike. Almost makes me wish I had kept my bike as you can get to parts of the countryside that the car cannot go! When I think in my youth I once cycled from Scotland down and round the Lake District! Oh! To be young again!!
Ian
When I was a student the first bike ride I did in London was from Battersea to Richmond Park, and I often enjoyed views like this when I repeated the trip. Later I joined the University of London Cycling Club and spent many a Sunday riding all over the home counties with them. My bike-riding days are long over but those were happy days indeed.
PS This set gets a UA for the nostalgia as well as the lovely images..

Sorry for my delay in answering your question, Peter.
The lead and V1 are more or less opposite Kew gardens, which is to the West of London in the suburbs. It looks narrow as just in view on the left of the photo an island makes an appearance and the tide was out.
V2 & V3 are further to the West near Richmond Park.
Best to Google the area for a better view of the way the river snakes many miles far off to the West of London.
