Having trekked up the day before to this 3400m viewpoint in heavy cloud, it was with a little trepidation that I went to sleep - having made the effort to get up there, I was relying on a correct weather forecast for the cloud level to drop beneath me. On waking, I found the scene cloud-drenched still, but after a few minutes it all cleared, the single foggy patch having passed on to the south. All beneath me was as an ocean of white, the far away Mischabelle peaks, the highest range in Switzerland, marching into the distance. I was grinning like a chesire cat as I searched for compositions and the sky began to flush pink.
An hour later the sun was fully up, the distant mountains glaring white with the reflection from the snow and ice, and I was tired but very, very happy...!
Cheers for any comments and votes, it's great having positive response from you all.
Thanks,
James
