Anatomy of a sunrise

By marktc
Something I've never done before but thought it might be interesting... today's upload is a series of 8 shots taken Thursday morning during Sunrise, not sure its of any use, but you can see how the sunrise and shoot progressed. The only processing done is to remove the dust bunny's everything else is as shot!

For me they show the varying light and weather conditions that we have to deal with when trying to capture landscapes/seascapes.

Thanks to all those that c and c'd on yesterday's upload but especially to Quoise for her very generous UA.

Hope you find them useful.

I like this Mark. It also shows how the colour balance changes in a shot as the light changes, nicely done.

Congrates on the GEA, great set of the changing light of dawn.

A brief history to the tower.
The Spinnaker tower was originally to be called the millennium tower, however the tower was 6 years late in the construction, hence the change in its name.
The lift that was constructed is very unique in that it was designed to operate even though the tower moves and sways. The opening ceremony had the Mayor of Portsmouth going up in the lift with other distinguish guests, however the lift failed and got stuck about 40' up and was like this for some hours.
I was there that day and it was more than a little embarrassing for Portsmouth CC.
I am not sure if the lift ever fulfilled its purpose thereafter.

This is great Mark - wonderful to share the light changing by the minute with you.
Think I like V6 best - that first awakening of colour.
I don't often see dawn but I got up one morning in Eastbourne and took images
before and after sunrise - somebody asked me if it felt 'spiritual' - and I 'm sure you can relate to that.
