And the winner is...

By mrswoolybill
He's just won a prize for singing the loudest. Looking at him, I think we can believe that.
This set is the reason for my rather sketchy presence here over the weekend. Friday saw the town's Christmas Fair, Santa's Grotto, street party and the switching on of the lights.
Apart from the main upload, a grab shot that I love for its fun and energy, these are uploaded in chronological order of taking - from the Fair, Santa's Grotto, carol-singing and face paints in the library, to the street party and lights, and ending with carol singing led by the vicar.
This was the first such event for three years, last year's had to be cancelled at the last minute because of Storm Arwen. I think everyone was just overjoyed to be together again. Our little town loves a good party.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

I like V15 for the Cadet security detachment in front of the stage. Reminded me of the Hell's Angels at Altamont, 1969.

They were making sure that adults left enough space at the front for the children to dance. But yes, the same thought went through my mind. You don't want those kids storming the stage... Wink

Was the loudest singing judged by ear, or did they have a decibel meter to hand?

By ear. John, who runs this side of the event, is a children's entertainer. He has a lifetime's experience of the decibels produced by children.
Thanks folks and Happy New Week.

What a grand set of images.
I can just see The Harlem Globetrotters using a net like that ..... running all over the court.

It looks like a good time was had by all. The lead reminds me that Xmas has always been a time for the youngest of us all, and us oldies are expected to suppress our inner child. I avoid such gatherings like the plague, too much noise and too many people for me, but I can enjoy events such as this at second hand.

A lovely set covering the event, Moira, and I think you made a good choice with the lead. It is nice that these events can now go full steam ahead, after the previous years having to be cancelled. Great fun seemed to be enjoyed by all!!
Our Xmas Market starts in Edinburgh this weekend, after the previous year's being reduced in size, now we are back, hopefully, to the full-blown version. Watch this space?

What a great set. My picks for funniest and cutest are....the lead, V2, V5 and V11.
The little boy in the lead reminds me of the boy who played in the movie Home Alone. I think his name is something like Macally Caulkins. Both spelled wrong but I think you'll get my drift.

Thanks Sandy!
V2 is lined up as part of a montage for the town's next calendar.
V5 - I have no idea who she was, but her Mum was happy for her to be photographed and she was a real sweetie.
V11 - the senior staff of the local Catholic primary school...
