I had the good fortune to take a couple of shots of my beautifully serene colleague Rosie just days before she gave birth to her gorgeous son. Only days earlier I popped to the shop and purchased 6 meters of white silk with this concept in my head. I hung each end off the top of 2 light stands and discreetly wrapped the middle section around Rosie's waist. I kept everything else super simple with my default single light set up above Rosie and centered. I took this opportunity to have a break from my usual 70-200 to use my second hand 85mm f1.8, I don't use primes very often and this lightweight lens worked really well and complimented my second hand Nikon D800. Maybe I should write an article on buying and using second hand gear. Rosie is happy with the shot which in this context the only really important things that counts.
