You shouldn't complain really mate, at least you get them......But then again you don't see Hedgepiggie's so I guess that's fair Wink

Didn't know they went to war, paint and all!
But then again, I saw a mantis eating a hopper bigger than herself on saturday ...
And you are right, not many about.

A fantastic shot btw.

A rather fantastic macro photograph Carol, full of gorgeous natural colour, superb detail, which enhances the beauty of this rather handsome looking 'Mantis' even further, and so very well indeed. A real pleasure to sit back view and admire greatly.

He looks so different. Looks like the demise of a butterfly somehow. Our mantis are usually a livid green in colour. Lots to learn in the mantis realm. TG

Very well captured Carol.
A definite lack of bugs this year. Was just saying the other day that I had seen few wasps, then discovered a nest in my shed Sad, bug man called in to remove it. Moira

Gosh the mantis looks a very large insect - you've captured it's size and shape so well
in a great Natural History image.
I admire your understanding of it's mood.

Super shot, Carol, not many bugs and creepy-crawlies around here - think they've all gone abroad to escape this miserable weather we're having! Wink
