A small thatched building that was probably at one point a toll house or pike house although cannot vouch that for sure. It's location though on an intersection island of two roads coupled with size and apparent age leads to that thought.
Pike Houses often held a few armed men who were subjects to the local Lord and placed to keep control over areas of their lands.
Toll Houses levied a charge from people for use of the highways placed in suitable points to gain revenue. Not known to self who got the revenue collected, The Crown, local Lord, Govt. or Local Government.
Image shot during the day whilst a delivery driver. A 30 minute unpaid break automatically deducted even if not taken or allowed for in the route planner. Consequently chose to take breaks for interesting subjects en route and carried a camera or two in my manbag/small rucksack along with at least one spare lens.
