ant mimic spider

By kjteng
When I first saw this critter (just outside my house). I thought it is an ant with a long nose. After taking few pics only then I discover that it actually has 8 eyes and 8 legs!

beautiful spider, and you have taken it beautifully. your composition is superb. the DOF you have chosen for the shot is superb according to me. but you should be more careful about the selection of proper background. the background of the image is well blurred but the lighter and the darker part is creating a contrast as a result it has a slight distraction on the subject. you could use a white card at the background at the time of shooting or you can correct it at the time of processing at the digital dark room.

Hope it helps,

Superb photo. Imho everything is perfect. Been taken in the wild you don't always have the option or choice to frame it perfectly such that you have a one tone background, so although this is ideal its not always possiblee.

The photo is well framed, good DoF and perspective.

A very interesting image, has held my attention for a couple of minutes, to my eye very well taken with the focus on the area that is of greatest interest and enough detail in the rest of the image to enable the viewer to ascertain the the whole interest, agree with zanzibarwinds re the background.
