'any spare change mate?'

By optik
Thank you for your votes and comments on yesterday's image and thank you Bill and Chris for your treasured awards.

I saw this scene develop just outside Lime Street station, Liverpool, the guy on the left digs deep for a little change while the guy in the centre looks about to knock the beggar out, indeed a heated conversation ensued but no violence erupted I'm glad to say although I was poised with my camera Grin

Poised with your camera.
What's the best settings for violence?
Suppose it depends whether you choose to freeze the action or go for artistic blur.
It's easy to judge a situation like this, begging is as old as the hills, yet we seem to take umbrage nowadays,
a time of plenty is not for everyone and a little share can go a long way.

When the usual guy with an empty coffee carton asking for spare change isn't there one day do we ever wonder what happened?

Good street photography should make us think, not just move on.

Dougie, provided they need help I'm in complete agreement and not like advert I recall from Private Eye's personal column in the 70's while at university.

I'm with you there Dougie, my belief is you don't look down on anyone unless it's to help them up (although I do know there are professional beggars).
