While on holiday recently in Malta, we took a daytrip to the island of Gozo. On the road to a church we'd planned to visit I'd spotted this cross atop a hill. There are religious symbols everywhere you look in Malta. After visiting the church I planned to go around this hill to photograph the cross from the other side - only to find the hillside on fire. While this made for dramatic photographs, it was farmland belonging to some poor unlucky farmer. Firefighters were on the scene as we arrived and spotted the smoke. The fire was brought under control and extinguished but not before a sizeable area of crops was destroyed.
The only editing on the photo was to remove a rather large unsightly dust spot and resize the image.
C & C welcome as always
PS The Maltese islands are very, very photogenic with a photo opportunity around every corner.
