Apple Squared!!

By DiegoDesigns
2007 is the Chinese Year of the Pig! For me it's the year of the square format image and subject. So continuing on from the Square Tomato and the Square Meal , I was inspired yesterday to create this square apple (Yes DaveU, another rainy day!)

Thanks for all the support on the Wells series, see what you think of something a little different...

It's an interesting idea Dave, and you've made a pretty good stab at what must be a very difficult manipulation to pull off. The front and top of the apple look spot-on, but I think maybe a bit more work is required on the side. Maybe just a bit of extra shadow would do it?

I love these square things of yours, they look so very odd. I thought DaveU had a point with his niggle so I've done a mod and hope I've fixed it with a couple of extra highlights. See what you think.

Many thanks for all the kind words on this piece of silliness, especially Eric for the Mod, which works really well. I now see what people were referring too, and think that perhaps a slight softening of the shadow would help the realism a bit, anywho, thanks Eric. Thanks Claire too for the essential click/comment. Cheers all...

A logical progression in your "square world" series, Dave. Another one and I feel a four square montage coming on.

Love the image - such a convenient shape for an apple to be - would make it so much easier when making fruit salad.
