Appley Court, Haynes

By bangalicious
Came across this lovely image whilst out and about driving around Mid Bedfordshire. A slight PS edit has been applied to sort out levels.
Not too sure about the big shadow which has been cast from trees behind me, but what can you do!

All comments, critique and advice appreciated.

Anil.

EDIT: Thought i would mention that a ND grad filter was used.

I like the shadow over "appley court" and the bright fields far off

Hi Anil

There is something very appealing about this, i think it is the intense coulours, slightly unreal, but the blue, gold and red seem to complement each other. The sign is a good lead in to the image but not in keeping for a straight landscape, but fine if you want to make an artistic statement. The shadow - kind of gives a feeling of foreboding and suspense and helps contain the white sign, it would be dazzeling without it, but it does cut the foreground in half, you would have to go back and take it with the sun iat different angle to avoid it.
Well done, keep it up.

Great Image . Love the colour in this shot, I agree about the shadow helping to contain the sign and I think the two shades of green work well .

nice colours mate, plus the shadow works nicely breaking up the picture and making it a bit different. brap
