Did it clear? My experience of Durdle Door a couple of months ago was that it was an exceptionally popular location for photographers! (No surprise there) Indeed, at one point during the morning I counted well in excess of 30 photographers on the beach alone - many were huddled together in such proximity that there would be very little difference in the composition of the images they took.

I like the high position you've adopted here, but would prefer if the horizon line were a little higher or (in preference) lower. That said, the slopes involved are severe and it is possible moving a few feet down the slope would result in disaster.

To answer the question above, yes, the beach did eventually clear as the light started to fade and it was possible to get a nice shot with an almost empty beach (the motor boat also left the scene). I posted this on 30th Oct.
I would have liked a better position for this shot but the grassy slope wasn't offering much support for the tripod legs and moving further down the steep slope towards the cliff edge wasn't very appealing!
