To discover what a lens can do can be fun, educational and useful...

This time it was my latest Ebay purchase, a circa £15 Chinese CCTV Lens ...a .... 25 - 1.4....with its tiny, supplied, extension ring fitted.

The extension ring changes the lens into quite a good close-up/macro lens, that produces interesting results.

Not for the serious close-up or macro or shooter, but for those among us who like to be experimentally creative....to find a familiar subject that lends itself to being seen in a different way.

Here I have emphasised the hard ridged brass of the connector with the softer bright yellow of the hose, in a diagonal composition.....with the lens doing its ...wide-open...shallow depth of field ...stuff.

I post this kind of thing, in the hope that it might encourage others to have a go, and to recognise that photography can be done on the cheap, with a little lateral/creatuve thinking.
