I wouldn't be too disappointed with this one, Robi. The strength of the dark arches is a good element and the fact that the rest of the building doesn't stand out so much is not a bad thing. Before you abandon this one, have a go at using the perspective tool to start with. Take it along the two outer pillars for the verticals, then across the tops of the top windows and the bottom of the bottom windows for the horizontals. Use a levels adjustment to further darken the arch-shapes, to brighten the whites of the windows within those, and mid-tones to give the rest of the building more depth and clarity. Then you could try a crop, which will make the image less "formal" and more abstract. This is what I did. Crop the top to just above the top of the top windows, but not too close. Crop the sides to the outer sides of the top 1st and 3rd top windows, about the same distance as before. Crop the bottom up to and just into the black of the bottoms of the arch shapes, leaving some of the railings showing over the black.
Pamela.
PS: I have put my mod on "Shoes outside a mosque", hope that's ok.
