Ardvreck Castle

By Sue_R
Had a day off today so we waited until it stopped snowing here then headed over to Assynt in Sutherland. Sadly the light was awful when we got there and every time I tried to take any photos it started snowing again so I've got very little to show for the trip.

Thanks again for your votes and comments on my images from Glen Affric. They really are much appreciated.

Oh wow! This is so lovely Sue! I quite like the greyness - it suits Assynt down to the ground! Smile I love the bits of grass sticking through the snow.

Pretty much summed up above! Doubt there will be much shelter available at the castle these days but a very photogenic ruin!

Nicely composed but the ruin plays second fiddle to those wonderful grass stalks poking through the snow.

Great to see this, Sue as it is such a contrast to when I was there Sept. last year. You have made the most of 'nothing conditions' I feel. A stromg image.
I really have to plan a winter trip to The Highlands.

Looks like the end of the world, Sue - a grim relic of bygone days and endless snow! Brilliant image.

What a lovely snow scene, Sue, very nicely captured and presented. Do hope it's not like this when I come up north of the border for Christmas! However, won't be coming this far north, only as far as Rothesay, Isle of Bute Smile

A superb snow scene Sue, while you've had snow we've had lots of wind and rain

Many thanks to all for your votes and comments.

Ron, I tried taking some photos while it was snowing, but spent more time wiping the lens than taking photos and those I did get had big wet blobs on them.

Sue Smile
