Armadillo

By GlenD
Hi all,
Probably been forgotten on here as it's been ages since I've last posted!! That is due to the project we are on right now keeping us busy with long days and not really any camera time. Did manage to get a 4 day break at home and out for a short time in my little woods for this shot. I actually see this critter just inside the wood edge digging around and not giving a very good shot as I was leaving it darted off in the woods, as I was just getting onto the road I looked back and see it out in the open in the grass so got as close as I could on foot and then belly down and crawled in a little closer. This shot looks as thought he/she is looking at the love bug flying past it's nose but in truth it spotted me and this was the last shot before in ran back into the woods...also the best shot as all the other it had it's nose burried in the grass looking for food.
My task now is to see what you people have been winking at thru the little square window!!!

Hope you like this

See ya out there
Glen

Brilliant - not only have you caught the head and body, but it's holding up a leg, so we can see those claws! Well caught.
(We've just started to get a few bugs and butterflies - Spring has sprung at last!)

I thank you all for taking a look, they are daft buggers though you can sneak up on them easily! suppose that's why they have all that armour and often see them dead after taking on cars which is a shame.

It's the timing that makes this one so good, because we can see those huge great claws. Would love to see one of these in real life Smile
