Around the Statue of Sir John A MacDonald and Gore Park of Hamilton, ON # 2 - 4

By TimothyDMorton
This past weekend on the 5TH June 2021 the Hamilton Spectator the native population of Canada wants the Statue of Sir John A MacDonald taken down for his involvement in the creation of Residential Schools run by Roman Catholic Church as they beat students along with them forced to learn either English or French and thus took away their cultural roots.

With this being the case, I went down on the morning of 8TH June 2021 and took a series of images of the Statue and material scrounging the statue including marks etc and they do not wish to be mentioned he created the Dominion of Canada along with creating a railroad.

As this capture was shot in RAW, I opened the file in Camera-in-the-RAW in my edition of Adobe Photoshop Elements where I confirmed the colour balance and tint, and then opened in Adobe Photoshop Elements where I re-sized to 687 x 1000 px and saved in JPEG for sharing one all.

The image features the statue of Sir John A MacDonald from around 1893 the whole reason for the wanting the removable.

The problem that we have in looking back on history and saying they should not have done that is that we have the benefit of hind sight and they did not. I doubt that all the people who supported the residential schools were evil or had evil intentions. The thinking 150 years + ago is different from today because we are standing on the other side of the results.

An excellent capture of the statue, BTW.

"Sir John" is a rather photogenic gentleman...
Nice one Tim !! Isabel GrinGrinGrin
A nice image Timothy. It is a sad fact of life that removing statues like this doeas not make everything right again. The world is going mad very quickly!
