Arrival: Inveraray.

By Tooma
Looking a bit overcast, but with a warm sun lurking just behind the clouds, ready to spread its warmth over us, we arrive in this attractive town on the west side of Loch Fyne, in Argyll and Bute.

"Inveraray, royal burgh (town), Argyll and Bute council area, historic county of Argyllshire, Scotland, on Loch Fyne on the Atlantic coast near the mouth of the River Aray. It was made a royal burgh in 1648. Inveraray was the ancestral seat of the Campbells of Argyll and was rebuilt by them in the 18th century, its architectural style reflecting the elegance of the period. The buildings are now officially preserved. The castle, which was constructed in French château style in the 1740s, was damaged by fire in 1975, and many art treasures were lost. The town’s primary industry is fishing, particularly for salmon and herring."

Very good details. It looks like a productive hillside. Maybe even grapes growing.

Quite a picturesque town with many white washed buildings. The old gaol is worth a visit. Well depicted with the brooding sky.

Must be at least 20 years since we were last there. A lovely place and this is a particularly appealing view; a glorious image. 🙂
