Art Space

By lifesnapper
Hi all, and welcome to a visit to 'Art Space', Winery, Museum and Cultural Centre. This is one of the places that we really wanted to visit in Santorini, after finding a small feature on it online. It dosn't appear in any of the Thomas Cook tours of the Island, and strangely enough, none of the staff in the Hotel where we stayed, had even heard of it. Well we found out where it was, and as it happend, was only about two and a bit miles from where we where staying. When we arrived, the place looked deserted, but for one Woman, who was there to show people around. (There was also an old Man who we met later) The Old Winery has long since gone, but wine is still made there in a much more modern fashion, and far smaller area. However, the old Winery has been converted into a lovely Art Gallery, using some of the old Winery bits and pieces as works of art themselves. We where very lucky to be there at a time when the place was empty, and got a full guided tour to ourselves. It cost nothing at all, unless of course you buy a bottle of there Wine after a very nice wine tasting session following the tour, which of course, we didSmile The old Man, the owner, was very pleased to sell us a bottle, and was every bit as friendly as the Woman who showed us around. Mind you, it's hard to find someone who isn't friendly in Kamari.
Hope you enjoy your little tour , but there's alot more to it than you'll see here.

Thanks to all for your very kind votes and comments on my 'Bird On Wire' Smile ( No Birds in this upload Ed', there where none there)

All the best to all,

John Smile

Thanks for the guided tour, what a fabulous place - cool and quiet. Recognisably connected to the wine tradition, but art is an acceptable substitute!

Truly enjoyable, this set; every one a winner! The colour is excellent and all the exposures as even as could reasonably be expected given the location; if pushed to choose a favourite I'll go for V10, for the angles!
