Arthur's Seat

By Philip_H
Hi All.

This is one of the views from the top of the Scott Monument in Edinburgh. Whilst my wife stayed on the ground to capture the monument from Princes Gardens ( BarbaraR ), I climbed the 287 steps to the top viewing deck. In the f/g is the Old Town and the b/g Arthur's Seat - the remains of a volcano that erupted under water during the Carboniferous period.

Thanks for all your C&C's on my last upload.

Best wishes,

Your usual, sharp clear technique has made a splendid image of Edinburgh--Arthur's seat is particularly interesting to me!

It's many years since I was at the top of the Monument (around 1964 perhaps) with my first camera, a Kodak Colorsnap that cost 3. 12. 0d. ....... needless to say it cold not have captured telephoto shots such as these.
So for me these recent images are particularly interesting.

This is quite the scenic shot. Nicely composed, too.
