Artichoke

I took this in the communal area of Levita House right next to The British Library. Levita House was part of a complex called The Ossulston Estate built by the LCC. It was a group of flats of social housing based on the Viennese model of social housing called Karl Ma-Hof. Now Grade II listed it shows a time when we could actually build social housing well.
Anyway I think it's an artichoke.

The flats look more like private accommodation than social housing...they don't build them like this any more.
Your artichoke looks like something out of the Muppet Show.
