As The Tide Flows Back

By fentiger
Let your imagination run free and you are walking along at the tides edge on a beach (here it is Aberystwyth) the tide rushes in and unless you are paddling and happy to let it run over your feet you retreat hastily to avoid your shoes getting wet. Trying of course not to make a fool of yourself like Neil Kinnock. Then the tide flows back through the pebbles making that unique rattling/sucking sound ~ this photograph captures that moment ~ ideally it needs the sound effect as well.

It's an image that for me brings back memories. Not only of that day on the beach at Aberystwyth but when I was a kid playing on the beach at Lowestoft. Perhaps it releases some memories for you.

Wheres the pub sign ? I know, you had too many and ended up face down in the pebbles, great shot, super colours and detail, by the way I spent most of my time at Lowestoft when I was young....

Memories yes I can hear the waves and feel the stones digging into my bare feet as I wish I had not left my sandals back at the deck chair.

A good frothy capture here Albert.I always think a bit of wetness brings out the tones and textures of stone a treat.A good example here. And like me,you do have a vague connection to the ''Saturday Challenge''.I do like a frothy pint !!!

No need for sound Albert. The image brings the sound to your mind.
Wonderful clarity and colour.

It's true.....the sound comes with the image. The colours of the stones are so much more vibrant when wet, too.

I didn't see the sea till I was 18 and going to meet my future M-in-Law in Southampton !! have been facinated by the sound of the sea ever since . Only happiest when I'm near to it . Lovely rushing , rattling, sea washed memories. xxx Smile

This image does capture the "Moment" and the colors, and all the little bubbles

I could easily have made this image at the "Rock Beach" this side of the pond--
Texture and detail bring all sorts of memories-- Jennnnnn
