Ashlett Mill was built in 1816 and has a mansard roof, there is also a sailing club and a pub.
At the turn of the last century, large ships used to come in to embark grain or flour, and a quay was completed in 1887 to celebrate Queen VictoriaÂs Golden Jubilee. AshlettÂs earliest reference to a mill dates back to 1241. As well as the mill 2 Salterns produced salt here that was shipped from the quay.
