Aspects of Durham #2

By KingBee
First, many thanks indeed to everyone who took an interest in "Aspects of Durham #1" and thanks in particular to Moira, Bill, John, Andy, Alison, Leo, Eric and Nezih for their very kind UAs.

Today's upload was shot in The Galilee Chapel , the part of Durham Cathedral where visitors normally gain access to the cathedral itself. Photography in the main body of the cathedral is forbidden and I strictly observed that; but as I was exiting back into The Galilee, where such rules appear to be less stringent, I saw this view and grabbed it, mainly because I was fascinated by, and wanted to capture, the Moorish architectural style of the columns and arches which bear a strong resemblance to those of the Great Mosque of Cordoba. It is the only record of my visit.

Beautiful light inside, Bob. The arches really look like those in the great mosque in Granada.

We knocked on the door, but couldn't get past first base without paying an exorbitant fee...so much for inclusiveness!!

Well captured 😀

That's funny, because we weren't charged at all. Maybe it was a Christmas gift .....Smile

They certainly are: small, unobtrusive, and a silent EFC shutter (on my G80, at least) to top everything off.
