Astley Green

By johnriley1uk
I found this image and it has been overlooked since about 2006, so here it is. The shot is taken from the Bridgewater Canal and is looking towards Astley Green Colliery. The winding house and head gear can be seen in the distance. It was shot with the very likeable Fujifim S7000 bridge camera, in the days before we moved to DSLRs.

Isn't it strange when we find old forgotten images and wonder why we never did anything with them. I find it hard to organize all mine and lose most of them. This is very nice.

It amazes me every time when old digital images are shown, i know you could not print to fill a hoarding, but the detail is amazing. Was this about 5gig< John??

It was 6MP which Fuji claimed to extrapolate to 12MP, but the detail and sharpness was good however they did it.

This brings back great memories, there were many Collieries around us.

A good industrial scene with the canal to transport the coal? With the lack of being able to travel far, I think we are all looking back to find entries, these days.
