"At Bowling"

By RonnieAG
Two images today from the Forth and Clyde Canal at Bowling, the western end of the canal where it meets the Clyde.

V 1: view under the railway bridge and along the canal into the outer basin.
V 2: view across the outer basin.........V 1 was taken from beyond the railway bridge to the right of the building. The 'gadget' in the f/g is part of a lock operating mechanism (I think).

My thanks to all who C and C'd on Chionodoxa and with special thanks to Nezih {nonur} and Jenn {taggart} for their User Awards.

Ronnie.

Both lovely images taken on a bright sunny day. No info on the actual date, but if it's recent, it looks like you're having good weather. Like the reflections in the water in both images.

V1 is very well composed, Ronnie, with the light penetrating well under the bridge providing great light and shadow with the water adding nicely with the reflections of the clouds. V2 is crammed with fine detail good depth and shows the other side of the vantage point of V1. A bad week and it looks like a bad night to compound things hope the back is on the mend.

Canals are a wonderful legacy from the busy industrial past - I look at images like these and try to imagine what it was like it the 'good(?) old days'.
Two well composed, well exposed, well detailed and very interesting images, Ronnie.
