at Pier the SS SOALANDET

By TimothyDMorton
in case you didn't see yesterday information about the ship it's home port Kristiansand, Norway as it's one of the eventís most magnificent tall ships, the 57 meter and is the oldest full rigged ship in the world still in operation. Built in 1927 as a merchant marine training ship, Sorlandet now offers students learning experiences aboard the ship through the Canadian sail training institution Class Afloat.

the techniques
In camera with standing at the front end of the SS SOALANDET waiting with some friends who wished to board her on 30TH June 2013 as I had done the previous day I took ten illustrations to be part of a series of shots think they may turn out to be a PANORAMIC image while not a true PANORAMIC IMAGE as you can see it looks almost normal dimensions with lots of people in front this ship.

The post processing techniques in steps using Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.

Step One
File, Panoramic Image (merging 10 images) Auto. Saved as the Panorama of SS SOALANDET.PSD in Adobe Photoshop default format, of the file.

Step Two
Re-opened in Camera-in-the-RAW where I fixed the brighness levels, and then opened in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.

Step Three
Saw the size in IMAGE RESIZE was 24 inches wide, realizing it had lots of empty space so I set the crop marks to 19 1/4 wide and left height blank and 400 dpi and moved the selection cropped it and re-saved as Panorama of SS SOALANDET.PSD.

Step Four and Five
Image Resize Width 600 px, and then applied the UNSHARP MASK till I lived the results and saved this time as Panorama of SS SOALANDET.JPG quality 10 for upload to this gallery.

Lastly hope you will not have minded the break from my birds as found them to be fun to capture.
