At the Italian

A quiet little oasis of civilization, in a world of tired, dingy concrete.
Thanks for looking,

For some reason the word `Obscure' comes to mind, or should it be `Obfuscate'....maybe a glass of Pinot would help? SmileSmileSmile

Not a very good one if the condiments are anything to go by Smile
Nice image Moira.

Love it ! Two possible scenarios :
1) This was the shot you wanted and carefully set up
2) You needed to hide the camera behind the glassware to avoid being spotted and didnt have time to focus on the couple - autofocus picked up the glasses.
Be honest now....

Any port in a storm, Dave. This was the only place where people talked, and where people could actually hear each other talk...
Thanks again folks.
Edit - David, this was carefully but discreetly composed and focused. I have had the Emergency Lumix for a couple of years now, I genuinely loathe using it but for visit for a funeral a DSLR is not really ideal. The one advantage of the Lumix is that it is very unobtrusive...

Like it. My sort of short Moira.

Yep, nothing quite like a pasta and a pint. Not suggesting that you would drink a pint of wine of course Moira Wink

Good view point (not pint) and the ideal composition. Had to be mono.

As a latecomer, I can only agree with the above. I love the punch of the mono; the nicely composed, in-focus foreground leading towards the out-of-focus background, all coming together in a feeling of quiet relaxation. Allan

It looks a very comfortable place. The sparkle on the glass caught my eye immediately.

A great viewpoint, composition and good depth of field - just enough to draw the eye to the glasses in the foreground, but show what's going off in the background and the location Smile
