Atlantic Moonset

By sherlob
I had visualised taking a shot of the Milky Way from this location months in advance of my recent trip to South Africa, but was more than a little gutted when I realised that my trip coincided with a near full moon. Not to be deterred I decided to try for the image regardless. The moonset was spectacular to witness and I'll remember my evening for a long time to come. Photographically however I realised how much I still have to learn about this genre. I attempted a stacked panorama - 5 images per stack stitched in LR. Sadly, the post processing has beaten me and the image here comes from a pano of non stacked images. Whilst it doesn't look too bad, the noise control applied is too much imho and this has impacted on the resulting IQ.

Thanks for letting us know your trials and tribulations Adam but, your resulting image is a stunning view, the Moon bowing out gracefully to the sun.
