Fine portrait of this man at work - nice use of framing here.

Your 'attention to detail' is excellent here Nick, fine work - I like it very much!

What does he do? I agree he is spot-on and the colours are nice but I think a vertical execution would have revealed more and cost nothing, as the lamp on the right could be omitted, we have the one on the left to give us some information about the man and his job.

I agree i would have liked to have included more, had I used vertical format you would have seen the clutter obliterating the lower half of the image. That's the problem with candids it's not always possible to get the perfect staging, there again that's what I like about candid photography.

I like the context, and the clutter, it's part of the bigger picture. I also like the fact that we have to imagine what he is concentrating on. A square crop, taking rather more off the right than the left, might contain him quite neatly though, as an alternative.

It's a fine candid Nick and he's nicely framed by the foreground "clutter". I can't imagine this working anywhere near as well in mono as the colours really do work to emphasize the guy and pull him to the forefront of attention.

This Scotty he's one of the loco cleaner's or a trainee fireman if you like.
Here he is preparing the loco lamps either filling them with oil/paraffin or replacing the wicks.
A good shot of a great guy and a funny guy to have on shed alway's up for a laugh.

Superb exposure showing the details of his face realistically and naturally. Excellently framed by the objects either side. Can't fault it.
