Amazing. Great composition, great light. But I feel the light from the city in right is distracting. I prefer to crop the right side after the aurora, lefting the reflection on the water/snow? to directly point to aurora. Smile

Thank's for your comment, arhab. I can see what you mean. I'm a bit afraid to crop the image to much in damage to loose some of the balance and symmetry in the picture. For example I like the clouds coming up from the middle and where the mountains meet. But I'm agree that the city lights can be distracting Smile

Stunning. Great Capture. I am proud to be born and live in this City. Even though the city lights, you can see the fantastic Aurora Borealis. People fly from the other side of the world to see this. As Arctic_man say, you all welcome to Tromsø to see this and capture it yourself. I remember when we grew up we used to wave with something white in hope that Aurora waved back to us Tongue (I believe she did Wink )

Welcome to EPZ Steinar.

Its a terrific image of course, and as you can see, you will get a lot of comments and advice on the site.

I think the balance and symmetry is just right; I do see how the city can draw the eye as its so bright, but the exposure decision had to me made to favour the sky. This is perhaps one of the rare instances where an ND Grad filter could be used upside down, to reduce the exposure in the lower half.

Ive read so many Jo Nesbo books now that I feel I already know this place!

Hope you enjoy the site,
