Autumnal Nuthatch

By philhomer
I am blessed in that I work from home quite a lot and as such I have an 'outdoor bird studio' set up just outside my window. I confess, this means that I bait logs etc with suet etc or in the case of the Nuthatch I use sunflower hearts.
Each to their own but I have no interest at all in shooting the visiting birds on the normal man-made (or of course woman-made, or for that matter made by a person that does not wish to be identified as either or any gender) feeders.
As such, I am constantly bringing back old logs from the neighbours woodland much to my far-better-half's delight as my office window looks onto our drive and as such it looks like steptoe's yard and is visible to anyone passing.

Great capture given how quickly nuthatches move, they don't hang about! The solid background really makes your subject stand out nicely.

Luckily the driveway is bordered on one side by trees and at a certain time of day the sun (occasionally) hits the leaves to create some nice bokeh.

Many thanks to all for the comments. The Nuttys are here again today but currently the light is rubbish, which is good else I would never get any work done.
I love Nuthatchesi take many images myself.but you cant beat the classic pose, well caught.
