Thank you for all your C & Cs for my previous Coal Tit picture. Today i have the beautiful Avocet, which i took earlier this year

A distinctively-patterned black and white wader with a long up-curved beak. It is the emblem of the RSPB and symbolises the bird protection movement in the UK more than any other species. Its return in the 1940s and subsequent increase in numbers represents one of the most successful conservation and protection projects.

Great shot Mike. A really beautiful bird.
I wonder perhaps if the bird, which is after all the main subject of the presentation, could be given a little more prominence by cutting out some of the open and featureless space in front of him. The bird is sharp as a new pin and could certainly stand having a larger presense. Taking out some of the empty space would still leave room for the bird to move yet concentrate more on the bird.
I must stress that this purely my opinion and is in no way a criticism.

From being one of Brittan's rarest birds they must be one of the major conservation successes. Love your picture .
