Awakening

By lifesnapper
Hi all, and just a 1 upload break from people for Today. I guess flowers must get just as excited as we do when starting a new Life. Full of uncertainty yet plenty of Sunshine to come.
Took these, and many more on Sunday, between showers, but the Clouds hardly shifted, so the light wasn't what I'd hoped for. O well, hope you enjoy this little bunch of Five, and thank you all VERY much for your kind votes and comments on my Silly Sunday upload, 'The Wibbly Wobbly Man' Smile

Hope you're having a good week, all the best to all,

John Smile

The poppy shots are my favourites, John, and you will need to go back when a mass of them are in bloom too......what a fine display that will make: it would be worth using a wide aperture and focussing on a near bloom and let the rest gradually become 'softer' as they recede from the focal point. Just a suggestion, but I think it might result in a fine image.
I also like the horse chestnut shot.

Lovely set, John, but v1 is a stand out image for me. Great patterns formed by the buds and the two red flowers provide an excellent counterpoint.

V1 and V5 have a sort of pattern repeats look. V1 the winner for me, for its simplicity.

Gorgeous. V1 and V5 for me, too.
Looks as if you have had a mini-Summer at least.
7 C here today - in the middle of May! And we've just had a hailstorm Sad

I do hope they survive the rotten weather, John.
V1 is the one for me. I like the way you have filled the frame with the buds (I always enjoy their hairiness), and your "awakening" title is perfect. Just the few red poppies, and one top left ready to pop, with a promise of hundreds more, is all that is needed here. I would be inclined to clone out the little one intruding top right.

1&5 for me too, John. That silver-green with the red of the poppies is a marvellous contrast, and your use of dof is spot on.

A lovely set John, blooming marvellous if I may say so. Some good advice from Ronnie above, if you have a macro lens at your disposal i'd be inclined to use it or even a compact camera with a good macro setting if you posess one. You'd be able to get much closer then

A nice set. I prefer the two with poppies. What a great place to revisit when more of the flowers are out.

The perfect title for these images - flowers and plants are awakening here too - if only the temperatures would improve, so we could see the full effect of heat on our vegetation.

My back garden was full of poppies in Austin. They have now long since gone to seed. I have some ruffled ones similar to the ones in v1 - one of my favorite blooms.

Photographing red poppy shots is good - but even better when the photographer arrives just at the right time to capture the first opening buds.

Here the touch of red before the other plants have matured has produced an excellent piece of work. Echo the award from Yung.

WOW John what an Awakening indeed . Love all the hairy poppy buds in version 1. They will be fantastic WHEN they all pop out xxx
