Its a beautiful picture and obviously difficult to take, but in my opinion the blue is looking a tad oversaturated in the areas surrounding and below the eye and the large pale out of focus background area on the left is distracting and would be better cropped down to a more square format. the ingredients are all there and it is rather lovely.

Thanks Phil.... it was my first attempt at one of these little guys and i used some fill flash which looks like it oversaturated the little fella.... thanks for you advice and taking the time to comment.. Smile

Have to agree with Phil here, the trouble with fill flash on a Kingy in sunlight is it will sheen of the already glossy plumage.

This is potentially a really good picture but the colours are wrong. Maybe it is the flash fill-in that's fooling the sensor and maybe the sensor has special sensitivity to this wavelength of light reflected from the Kingfisher. You could try reducing the saturation.
