Baby in blanket

By vickik
As the last shot of my little boy in his blanket was well received I thought I would take some more! This one is a bit more smiley than the last!

I've finally got Photoshop but am still learning...any mods are welcomed to speed up my learning!

I love this. It is so warm and cute. The only thing I would suggest is that you use a spot focus setting (rather than auto multiple focus) so that you can choose to focus on baby's eyes, then recompose the shot, as the towel is in sharpest focus here. Sorry if I'm telling you something you know better than I, but I just hope it might be helpful. Lovely image full of character and warmth though.

Gorgeous eyes, great shot, but i do agree with leigh, the eyes could have been a little more into focus especially with those eyes Smile

I remember this baby, - a nice pose and extra cute.

The point already made above re the focus, - the eyes are not sharp, so its a good suggestion to ensure the eye is the focal point, In addition, youre using the f/1.4 lens, - dont know what aperture you used, but if you look closely at the image, the towel and the babys hand are sharp, and the depth of field is very shallow, so try using f/5.6 or f/8 if you have the light, - it gives you more depth.

I have loaded a mod with the eyes sharpened quite a bit, and some levels adjustment to brighten a tad.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks so much for all of your comments....all very useful. I realised when I looked at the shot on my PC that I had focussed wrongly on his hand rather than his eyes, but still loved the shot so decided to upload it anyway! I'll try it again and get the focus on his eyes next time. Thanks also for the mods...they're great.
