Baby Jake

By chensuriashi
First real try at a Baby portrait this is Jake, he was very interested in the camera, just learned that he can get around on two legs, there are three shots here shot over the garden fence with the 70/300 set on portrait mode, and took 10 in 10 mins of shooting, it was a shame that his mum came to pick him up just after I had started and sort of broke the spell.
These three were the best shots from the set, I have used layers here to get the best out of the shots, but any ideas from the experts would be kindly taken on board.
The prints are already on the way to the happy grandparents, a freebee for them, they are a great and very helpful couple.

Thanks for looking in again.

I am sure the grand parents will be thrilled with these, and you certainly managed to capture his great mood. I would try a little less direct flash as it can flatten the image and be less of a natural effect. I would also have to clean up his runny nose and get rid of the food on his T-Shirt in PS. The third shot seems to have captured him going into or coming out of a blink. Otherwise a great start. Hope you don't mind the comments.

Very nice first try at baby portraits Chen, I would think that they are far more difficult to work with than adults or models, looks like you managed to get him quite relaxed and smiling. I think Jules comments are very relevant and useful but I find all these shots of Jake very pleasant to view and for sure will find a special place in the family album.

I have uploaded the camera version of Chelsey especially for you.
