Baby Tawny Frogmouth

By Joeblowfromoz
The Awww cute factor here.... lol

Another image taken at the reptile park. This Baby Frogmouth is only about a week old and was rescued after falling out of it's nest and Mum couldn't be found and is bearing hand reared at the Park.

These Birds are not related to the owl family and are strictly a breed of their own.

Have just done a bit of work on the background in PS, but otherwise from camera.

Thank you all so very much for the overwhelming response to Water Dragon, and have a few more to show from the reptile park ove the next couple of days. Very wet 'almost English' day here today, so guess I will be getting some more photo work done..

Cheers

Jo

This is a great shot Jo and a rare one. They are so hard to spot in the wild. Once when we were walking through the forest at Pemberton Western Australia we saw one camouflarged against the flaking bark of a tree. He looked the very same colour and was hard to spot. This is a beaut image,great……………Jc…………..

A fascinating but uplifting story to accompany your two excellent images, Jo. My first impression was that it was an owl but interesting to read it is a separate species.
Cute +++ and great shots+++.

Not heard of these before, Jo, he is rather gorgeous, even though he doesn't look too happy at having his photograph taken in V.1 Smile. Very well captured and presented. Carol

I thought he was an owl too at first. What a cute fella and good to see if he's so difficult to find in the wild
